Full-time Family Housing and Resource Navigator/Shelter Manager
Family Promise of Metro East is a newer affiliate of Family Promise dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness in Multnomah County achieve permanent housing. We work in partnership with local congregations and other community organizations to provide 24/7 shelter, case management, housing and resource navigation, meals and a supportive social network for children and their families experiencing homelessness. Position Overview:
This is an opportunity to join a small professional staff and a core group of dedicated volunteers who have established a much-needed family shelter program. This organized, compassionate, and motivated person will work 1:1 with families, welcoming them into our shelter program and efficiently transitioning families from homelessness to permanent housing. This staff position supports families to resolve their houselessness using a trauma-informed empowerment model as well as following a rapid-rehousing, housing-first approach. The Family Housing and Resource Navigator/Shelter Manager (Navigator) will assist families in obtaining resources to remove barriers to sustainable housing outcomes such as securing employment, increasing earning potential, securing/maintaining housing, and securing a trade/certificate. They will also supervise the functions of the Family Day Center. The Navigator will work closely with the Executive Director and volunteers to ensure that our shelter program implements best practices in supporting our guest families.
